Coronavirus: Telemedicine service stopped as health worker infected in Natore
Telemedicine service was stopped at Lalpur Upazila Health Complex as a health worker tested positive for coronavirus on Monday night.
District Directorate General of Health Services on Monday night confirmed that a health worker of the telemedicine department was infected with coronavirus.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ummul Banin Duti said she visited the Upazila Health Complex on Monday night and shut the telemedicine department temporarily.
The infected health worker was sent to institutional health quarantine while samples were collected from the other health workers.
So far, ten people including a doctor and three health workers were infected in the district.
Altogether 565 physicians, excluding nurses and health workers, got infected with coronavirus while treating patients as of Monday, said Bangladesh Doctors Foundation (BDF), a forum of physicians.
Bangladesh has recorded 10,143 coronavirus cases and 182 deaths as of Monday.
Meanwhile, the country reported its highest daily new coronavirus cases on Monday with the detection of 688 patients.

Coronavirus: Natore to be locked down
The local administration is going to put Natore under lockdown on Thursday following a surge in coronavirus cases in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Shah Riaz came up with the announcement at noon.
The restriction will remain in force from 3pm on Thursday until further notice.
A physician of Natore Sadar Hospital has been diagnosed with coronavirus, creating panic among the doctors and health workers of the hospital.
Nine people, including the two health workers, were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Singra upazila on Tuesday and Wednesday.
With an increase in coronavirus cases, the local administration and Coronavirus Preventing and Controlling Committee took the decision to put the whole district under lockdown.
Bangladesh has seen a surge in coronavirus cases in recent days. On Wednesday, the country reported 641 cases and eight deaths. Until then, the health authorities have confirmed 7,103 cases and 163 deaths.
According to government data, 48 districts and 389 upazilas are under complete lockdown.
Storm damages boro crops, houses in Natore
Rain and hailstorm battered different parts of Singra upazila on Wednesday evening, damaging boro crops and houses.
Local people said storm swept over Chatardighi and Ramananda Khajura union of the upaizla. It lasted for about an hour.
The tin roofs of various houses and boro crops on some 1,500 hectares were damaged by the hailstorm, said Upazila Agriculture Officer Sazzad Hossain.
