Fire guts valuables at Munshiganj furniture market
Munshiganj, Feb 27 (UNB) – At least 17 shops were gutted as a fire broke out at a furniture market in Mirkadin of Munshiganj district in the small hours of Sunday.
The Fire broke out at a furniture shop around 12:30 am and spread soon, said Abu Yusuf, senior station officer of Munshiganj Fire Station .
On information, three fire tenders were pressed into the service and it took them an hand an hour and a half to fully douse the flames.

Fortunately, no causality was reported.
It is still not clear what caused the fire. However, efforts are on to identify the reason behind it.
32-yr-old man found dead in Magura shop
A 32-year-old man, the son of a former police officer, has been found dead in a shop in Magura’s Sreepur upazila, cops said on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Murad Hossain, son of Siddiqur Rahman of Vitasair village in Magura Sadar upazila. He worked at the same shop in Sabdalpur Bazar, where he died on Friday evening.

His father alleged that Murad was killed, while shop owner Malek Khan’s son Matiar Khan claimed that he died of an illness.
Sreepur police station officer-in-charge Shukdev Roy said the body was sent to the morgue of Magura Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. "A case has been registered at the police station in this regard."
