Vivo X Fold Review: Can it outsmart the other foldable phones?
Founded in 2009, Vivo has emerged as one of the top multinational tech companies in China. The company is a subsidiary of the Chinese tech conglomerate BBK Electronics. Over the last decade, Vivo has produced affordable mobile phones which have had huge popularity in mainland China and India.
In its growth endeavor, Vivo has been developing a folding phone akin to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Recently, the Company announced the Vivo X Fold on 11th April 2022 with a scheduled release slated for the latter half of this month in China. Here is everything you need to know about the first foldable flagship from the company.
Key Specifications of Vivo X Fold
Design and Build Quality
The world of foldable phones is still in its nascent stage. There was a time when smartphones had a small form factor and any device larger than the palm would get the “Phablet” tag. Over the years, phablets became normal and smaller phones became obsolete.
Read Symphony Z42 Review: Affordable Phone from Local Market
Standing in 2022, the choice of foldable phones is limited like phablets were in the early days of smartphones. The choices are limited between Vivo, Microsoft, Samsung, Huawei and Oppo for the time being. But most importantly, most of these devices share some core features which makes them more or less similar to each other. You can read our blog about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 to get an idea of the similarities.
Moving onto the Vivo X Fold itself, it has a triple display setup with the internal two acting as a uni-screen when unfolded. The standard hinge mechanism similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is present here. The back features a quad camera setup which is a testament that Vivo went all out on the camera department in this device.
The build quality of the device is pretty sturdy. The hinge mechanism works smoothly. A key advantage of the X Fold is that the crease of the inner display is not as prominent as that of Samsung or Huawei. This definitely gives the Vivo X Fold an edge over them.

Another unique feature of the device is the dual point in-display fingerprint scanner. There are two separate ones each for the outer and the inner display. The other feature selections are all standard here with a sim slot, secondary noise cancellation mic, and dual stereo speaker. The circular camera housing on a rectangular box definitely brings a touch of creativity to the design.
Display
The display takes the spotlight thanks to its quirks. Vivo used a foldable LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ support. The outer display is a standard LTPO AMOLED panel.
The LTPO technology allows the device to control the variable refresh rate up to 1 Hz to efficiently use the battery. This is a very important element of the device as the inner screen is almost 8 inches long when unfolded.
Read Power Bank Buyer guide with Price Ranges in Bangladesh
The display itself is everything you would expect from an AMOLED panel. It is FHD+ with vibrant colors and deep blacks. The viewing angles are perfect and there aren’t any color shifts whatsoever. The outer display, which is a 6.53 inches panel, also performs similar to the inner one bringing a unified viewing experience to the table.
Camera
Being part of BBK Electronics, Vivo and Oppo have always strived to provide a quality camera system to their users, regardless of the device price bracket. So it was expected that the foldable flagship from Vivo would be absolutely stacked.
The main sensor is a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The supporting sensors include an 8 MP periscopic telephoto lens, a 12 MP telephoto, and a whopping 48 MP ultrawide sensor. This camera system easily beats the one found on the Samsung Foldables, at least spec-wise.
Read Samsung Galaxy A13 4G Review: Does it live up to the hype?
The main sensor and the periscopic telephoto are fitted with OIS and laser PDAF. The pictures look perfect in direct sunlight with a good amount of dynamic range. Vivo image processing has always been on the warmer side so expect punchy colors which might look artificial at times.
There is a dedicated night mode for the low-light environment. It does an amazing job of clarifying the image with a variable capture rate and the Zeiss T coating on the lenses. On the videography end, the camera can shoot up to 8K at 30 fps which is the current industry standard for flagships. There is also a 16 MP front camera which performs as usual. Overall, the camera system is definitely one of the strong points of the device.
Processor and Performance
The Vivo X Fold features the latest processor from Snapdragon, the 8 Gen 1. This is an octa-core processor developed on the 4 Nm architecture. There are 1 3.00 GHz Cortex-X2 and 3 2.50 GHz Cortex-A710 and 4 1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 chips with Adreno 730 as the GPU.
Read Oppo F21 Pro Review: Camera Phone Made in Bangladesh
Speaking of the performance, the processor just blazes through everything. The efficient processor helps as the large display accounts for more processing power needs. Whether running apps in the background or using the split-screen for dual usage, the high processing power allows for a smooth experience. Needless to say, the X Fold is the perfect gaming device as all the 3D titles like COD and Asphalt 9 run at the highest graphics without overheating or frame drops.
Overall, the device is a beast when it comes to performance.
Battery and Charge Time
The Vivo X Fold is fitted with a 4600 mAh battery. Now it might seem very less for a dual-display device. But the efficient processor coupled with LTPO technology means users will be easily getting 7 to 8 hours of continued usage with the device. And if that wasn’t enough, there is an included 66 W fast charger in the box which can go from 0 to 100 in about 37 minutes.

Price of Vivo X Fold in Bangladesh
The Vivo X Fold is not officially available in Bangladesh yet. The pre-order price of the device in the Indian market is 1,07,190 Rs which roughly amounts to 1,22,326 BDT (1 INR = 1.14 BDT). However, the price may vary due to different factors when it becomes officially available in Bangladesh.
Verdict
The Vivo X Fold is a commendable step towards mainstreaming foldable devices from Vivo. It shows that the R&D is not limited to the likes of Samsung and Microsoft and Chinese brands are also catching up pretty fast, even outdoing them in certain areas. There aren’t any noticeable drawbacks of the X Fold other than the thick chins on the outer display. But that’s just how the foldable tech is evolving at this point. Other factors like camera, processor, and battery are excellent on this device making it a worthy rival of the Z Fold series from Samsung.

Vivo Y33s 4G Review: Do features accompany premium look?
According to Canalys, Vivo is currently the top fourth phone brand in the global 5G smartphone market. While they are one of the dominant companies in the 5G smartphone industry, the brand also continues offering top-notch 4G phones at a budget price. That being said, Vivo Y33s 4G is a new addition to the market. With 8GB/128GB, 5000 mAh battery, and 2408×1080 FHD+ resolution, Vivo Y33s launched in Bangladesh on March 31, 2022. Let's find out more about Vivo Y33s from this review.
Key Features of Vivo Y33s
Design
The flat, big-screen may make the phone feel bulky; however, it weighs around 182 grams. But, adding a thin phone case may reduce the bulk feel. The right side of the Y33s contains three buttons, including a volume rocker and a power button. The power button also has a fingerprint sensor. The SIM card tray atop the phone is easily accessible for SIM cards. It can hold two nano-SIM cards as well as one microSD memory card.
The Vivo Y33 is mainly made of plastic and feels like plastic whenever you touch it. So, using it without a back cover will surely result in some unwanted scratches.
Read: Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Review: A Fast Phone with Massive Battery
The 3.5-mm headphone port and power input are found at the bottom of the phone, and the USB-C charging port and speaker grille can be found there too.
Performance
Equipped with a MediaTek Helio G80, the Vivo Y33s has excellent overall performance. It runs apps without issue while simultaneously scrolling across many different news feeds. However, it may become slow if a lot of apps are open in the background and as notifications pile up.
Further, Vivo Y33s' gaming performance is limited to casual games, and heavy games will result in a lower graphics quality. The phone comes with 8GB and 4 GB RAM options. So, higher RAM will undoubtedly boost the performance.

Display
A pleasant addition to the Y33s is the Full HD-resolution screen. Smartphones with similar specs to the Y33's don't typically come with high-definition displays, so these may already be an improvement for one of these phones. This IPS display has great viewing angles and is quite good at reproducing colors, too. Hence, this is satisfying compared to the 720p displays from the competitors.
Although the screen feels soft to me, it is a bit fuzzy when you use it outdoors as it can be a bit of a challenge for you to understand the usual view without distorting it.
Overall, the display is good for people who have long Commute rugs because it gives them the opportunity to watch Netflix shows or gaming games without.

Camera
Vivo Y33s comes with a 50 Megapixel main camera and a 2MP+2MP camera, which is the prominent selling feature of the phone. The Samsung CMOS image sensor with a 1/2.76″ sensor size, a wide f/1.8 aperture lens, and 0.64μm pixel size is the type of camera that many users have given positive feedback about.
The AI-controlled camera has a 12.5-megapixel resolution that combines four pixels into one image and works great on low-light performance. Further, the 50-megapixel mode is available when the camera is set to a high sensitivity level. The camera also has scene recognition that applies the best settings and turns on or off the HDR feature.
With the right lighting, this camera can take good images that look great. Capturing a reasonable amount of detail, with some minor adjustments on Snapseed, is where your photos get their own set of tools to help you capture a perfect photo. You can adjust saturation, sharpening, and more to make sure your photos are dramatic in the right place.

The front camera is 16 MP to take selfies. The aperture for the front cam is f/2.0, and the rare aperture is f/1.5 (50MP), f/2.4 (2MP), and f/2.4 (2MP).
Connectivity, Sound Quality, and Security
The Vivo Y33s provide fast internet speed with a 4G LTE network. Further, the phone also supports 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. It also comes with USB Type-C for wired connectivity. The Bluetooth 5.0 technology allows you to prompt Bluetooth connectivity. Further, the phone supports GPS, OTG, and FM. On the earpiece, voice calls sound clear, while the loudspeaker may not sound good. So, you should try listening to music or watching videos via earphones.
Battery
The Vivo Y33s is equipped with 5000 mAh that can last about 2 days after a single charge and normal usage. On the PCMark Battery Life Test 2.0, the battery life is 16 hours and 43 minutes. The test indicates the battery longevity while simulating real-world tasks such as playing videos, web browsing, pictures, etc.

The phone may take around 2 hours and 35 minutes for a full charge. However, if you charge using an 18W charger, it may take 35 minutes.
Official Price of Vivo Y33s 4G in Bangladesh
The Vivo Y33s 4G's 8GB/128GB variant is officially available in Bangladesh at BDT 20,990. However, the price is subject to change depending upon circumstances.
Final Words
The Vivo Y33s 4G is an excellent smartphone for taking photos, streaming videos and browsing social media feeds. Its cameras are great for taking selfies during the day and viewing videos at night, and it has a screen with a large display and long battery life.
Nevertheless, its gaming performance isn't up to par for the price. It can run popular games smoothly but with poor graphics quality.

vivo’s most notable contributions for FastCharge can be experienced through V Series and Y Series* smartphones.
FastCharge Technology has been hailed as a technical marvel of our time. It is a relatively new technique that allows users to charge their mobile devices at a considerably faster rate than traditional charging methods. This is made possible by an increase in the number of volts and amperes available in chargers, as well as smart devices with large capacities. For instance, this method is capable of charging a 3,000mAh battery at 50% in just half an hour. It is one of the few systems that help extend the life of the batteries of our smartphones.

The fast-charging smartphones have higher peak voltage capacity batteries and specially designed ICs, so it carries high voltages with ease. These smartphones generally have a peak voltage capacity of 80 per cent which is the reason fast charging is most effective when the battery percentage is below 50 percent.
Technically, the entire fast charging process is divided into two phases. The constant phase where the battery voltage steadily increases to reach the highest peak voltage capacity which is then followed by the trickle stage, where the voltage drops down to fully charge the battery.

Vivo iQOO Z6 Review: The Budget Vivo for Camera Enthusiasts
The Vivo iQOO series of phones has been making quite a buzz in the entry-level smartphone market for a few years. The company recently announced the Vivo iQOO Z6 was released on March 20, 2022, in India. The phone brings a few key developments from the Z5 released last year. So, will this phone be the next budget king? Let’s find out in this detailed review of iQOO Z6.
Key Features of Vivo iQOO Z6
Design and Build Quality
Speaking of the design, it will instantly remind users about the Vivo T1 and OnePlus 9 series. And that isn’t surprising considering iQOO, Vivo and OnePlus, all three belong to BBK Electronics.
The phone is an overall plastic one with a glass front. The plastic on the back has a refractive matte finish which easily catches the eye. The rectangular camera housing is raised a bit giving it a pronounced look. Needless to say, the phone doesn’t sit flush on a flat surface. At 185 g, the phone is relatively heavier than a plastic build phone. but the even distribution of weight helps to offset the weight for long time usage.
Read OPPO K10 5G Review with Price: What’s New?
Moving onto ports and buttons, the power and volume rockers are situated on the right of the device. The power button doubles as the physical fingerprint scanner which is now becoming a common placement in budget phones.
The top of the phone features the secondary noise cancellation mic and the hybrid sim slot. Users can have a dual standby sim or replace one with micro SDXC. The main speaker along with the Type-C port and the 3.5 mm headphone jack is situated on the bottom of the device.
Overall, the design of the iQOO Z6 isn't really much different from the Z5. But the certain refinements and polishing help to give the device a more premium look.

Display
The iQOO Z6 features a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel. It was expected that iQOO will go with the LCD panel given the price of the device. But what’s interesting is that the company managed to include a 120 Hz refresh rate with the panel.
Animations look much smoother compared to before. Much of it is due to the smooth display and some OS tweaks. The display is everything expected from an FHD+ display. The phone does get relatively bright outdoors. Viewing angles are also great. Colors might look a bit washed out here and there depending on the content. But users have full control to tweak the colors so nothing to worry much. Aside from the 120 Hz refresh rate, this is just another run-off-the-mill IPS LCD panel. But considering the price, it does its job more than well enough.

Camera
The camera is easily one of the strong points of the Z6. It features a triple camera sensor with the main one being a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle shooter. Some might feel that it falls short of the 64 MP main shooter used in last year’s Z5. But it was done to provide more aggressive pricing without compromising much on the quality.
