Bangladesh complete clean sweep of Zimbabwe
Dhaka, Oct 26 (UNB) – Bangladesh completed a clean sweep of visiting Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI series beating them by seven wickets in the third and final game at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.
Bangladesh got a seven-wicket victory in the second match in Chattogram on Wednesday and a 28-run win in the first encounter in Dhaka on October 21 to register the fourth sweep against Zimbabwe in their 16 series and also third successive clean sweep at home since 2014.
Imrul Kayes most run-scoring batsman in 3-match ODI series for BD
Dhaka, Oct 26 (UNB) – Opening batsman Imrul Kayes has become the most run-scoring batsman for Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series leapfrogging Tamim Iqbal in the third game against Zimbabwe on Friday.
With 349 runs in his bag, he also featured 2nd in the list of most run-scorers in a three-match series of all countries after Pakistan’s Babar Azam (360).
Imrul Kayes scored 115 in the final game of the series after 144 and 90 in the first and second games respectively.
Kayes who entered the crease 79 runs adrift to cross Tamim Iqbal’s Bangladesh record of 312 made against Pakistan in 2015 took two runs off Richard Ngarava in the 24.2 overs to reach 314 when the Tigers were batting on 166* for 1 after an early shock of losing Liton Kumar Das for duck in the innings very first ball.
He finally found fielder at long off after scoring 115 off 112 balls featuring 10 fours and two sixes which is his fourth century in the format.
Riding on the 220-run partnership between Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by seven wickets to complete a clean sweep of the visitors.

Soumya hits century in comeback match
Dhaka, Oct 26 (UNB) – Bangladesh’s top order batsman Soumya Sarkar hammered his second ODI century, in the 3rd game of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.
Soumya took a single off Wellington Masakadza in 27.1 overs to reach the 100-run mark off just 81 balls, including nine fours and four sixes, when Bangladesh were on 199/1* in their pursuit for 287 in reply to Zimbabwe’s 286/5.
His innings finally came to an end on 117 runs off 92 balls featuring nine fours and six sixes being caught by Tiripano off H Masakadza on 220/2.
The 220-run partnership between Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes is also the best 2nd wicket stand for Bangladesh in ODI.
Soumy missed the first call in the squad due to his dull performances in the Asia Cup in the UAE in September and got the call for the final ODI following his all-round performance in the ongoing first class 20th National Cricket League (NCL) for defending champions Khulna Division.

12-member BCB Eleven for 3-day practice match against Zimbabwe announced
Chattogram, October 25 (UNB) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday announced a 12-member BCB Eleven to play a three-day practice match against touring Zimbabwe from October 29-31 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here ahead of the two-match Test series including pacer Shahadat Hossain Razib.
The first of the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe will begin on November 3 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium while the 2nd Test will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on November 11-15.
