Dhaka, Sep 15 (UNB) - Lebanon crushed Bahrain 8-0 in their Group ‘F’ qualifier battle of the AFC Under-16 Women's Championship 2019 at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur on Saturday.

Vietnam got a 4-0 win against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the opener at the same venue also in a Group ‘F’ match.

Dhaka, Sep 15 (UNB) – Bangladesh’s trailblazing golfers Siddikur Rahman slipped to joint 60th from 45th spot in the approximate US$1,000,000 purse of the 34th Shinhan Donghae Open after third round at Bear's Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea on Saturday.

The two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur aggregated one-over-par 214 [69-71-74] from three rounds to stay a 15-shot behind the leader Sanghyun Park, who took one shot lead above his South Korean compatriot Byeonghun An.  

Park continued his domination throughout the three days as he shot a five-under-par 66 on the day.

In the third round, Siddikur traded one birdie against two bogies in each-9 for a three-over-par 74 to share his position with five other golfers.

He started the campaign in the flagships with two-under to share the 18th spot on Thursday.

Dhaka, Sept 14 (UNB) – Bangladesh’s trailblazing golfer Siddikur Rahman made cut in the approximate US$1,000,000 purse of the 34th Shinhan Donghae Open placing joint 45th spot after the second round at Bear's Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea on Friday.

Carding an even-par-71 on the second day, Siddikur aggregated two-under-par 140, seven shots behind the joint leaders -- Sanghyun Park and Hyungjoon Lee of South Korea and the Philippines’ Miguel Tabuena. 

Among the leaders, Sanghyun Park carded a three-under-par 68 on the second day to maintain his top position, following the solo leadership with nine-under after first round of the flagship.

Siddikur traded two birdies and one bogy in each 9 and saw the only double bogey in the 12th hole on the day to share his spot with five other golfers, slipping from joint the 18th spot. 

Zadar, Sept 14 (AP/UNB) — The chair umpire who penalized Serena Williams in the U.S. Open final is pleased to be getting back to work.

Carlos Ramos is assigned to the Davis Cup semifinal between Croatia and the United States this weekend in Zadar.

"I'm just focusing on this tie and working again. That's all I can say," Ramos told The Associated Press before the opening singles between Borna Coric and Steve Johnson, which he was not officiating.

Ramos was expected to direct the second singles between Marin Cilic and Frances Tiafoe.

Ramos gave Williams three code violations in her straight-set loss to Naomi Osaka last weekend, and the American great argued she wasn't being treated the same as some male players.

USTA president and CEO Katrina Adams, who defended Williams, was overheard apologizing to Ramos on the sidelines of Thursday's draw ceremony.

Ramos wouldn't go into details over his discussion with Adams, who initiated the conversation.

"You know I cannot talk about that," Ramos said.

Dhaka, Sept 13 (UNB) – Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) on Thursday announced a 21-member final squad of Bangladesh team for the 1st Asian Challenge Cup Men’s Volleyball scheduled for September 15-22 in Sri Lanka capital Colombo. 

Bangladesh team comprises 14 players and seven officials.
