Cumilla case: Govt files petition seeking stay on Khaleda’s bail
Dhaka, Mar 19 (UNB) – The government on Tuesday filed a petition seeking stay on the High Court order that had granted bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case filed over the death of eight people in an arson attack in Cumilla.
2-yr jail for adulterating fish, fish products; law coming
Dhaka, Mar 18 (UNB) – The Cabinet on Monday approved in principle the draft of the Fish and Fish Product (Inspection and Quality Control) Bill, enhancing the maximum punishment to two-year imprisonment for adulterating fish and fish products, and other offences under the proposed law.
