Sylhet, Jul 26 (UNB) – Six people were killed and three others injured as a truck collided head-on with a microbus at Ilashpur in Osmaninagar upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet. The deceased were learnt to be members of a family.
Officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station Ali Mahmud said the Sylhet-bound truck collided with the Dhaka-bound microbus around 3:30pm, leaving four people dead on the spot and five others injured.
All the victims were passengers of the microbus which got twisted after the collision.
Local Fire Service and Civil Defence men rescued the injured and took them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries, said OC of Sherpur Highway Police Station Inspector Bimal.
He said the truck overturned on the road after the accident, halting traffic for some time.
