A seven-month-old girl who was suffering from cold and fever died at Paglar Darga village in Rajarhat upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ayesha Begum.
A medical team of Rajarhat Health Complex collected the victim’s sample for coronavirus test, said its Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Shahinur Rahman.
Locals said the child’s father who works in Narayanganj frequently visits home.

The house of the deceased was put under lockdown and family members were kept in home-quarantine, said officer-in-charge of Rajarhat Police Station Krishna Kumar Sarkar.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh saw the highest deaths from coronavirus on Friday as 15 more people died from the virus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll in the country to 75.
Besides, 266 people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 1,838.
