He made the remarks at the Secretariat while speaking with journalists.
Minister said “We’ve noticed that a group, especially BNP and its allies have entered their agents among the students manipulating their emotions to continue the protests although their demands were already met.”
“Islami Chhatra Shibir and Chhatra Dal have become active after the Abrar Fahad killing incident,” Minister said adding that they also have taken a vicious move to drive the issue to different sector.
Slamming the deadly incident, Hasan Mahmud said the government has taken quick steps and 19 accused were already arrested.
“I agree with students’ emotion and concern,” Minister said adding that this incident must be protested to avoid any such incident in future.
Speaking about Prime Minister’s recent India visit, Information Minister said Bangladesh’s interests were protected in all the contracts signed with India but BNP has been spreading propaganda to confuse people.
While asked about the contract on Feni river water sharing, Minister said India has already been taking water from Feni River, but the thing has been brought under a framework for Bangladesh’s financial interest.
Giving the example of Singapore’s decision about opening its port for the world, Hasan Mahmud said India will have to give royalty to Bangladesh when they use Chattogram Port and the roads.
