The ACC headquarters in the capital came to know in June last that Manik owns three houses, including a duplex one, fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) worth Tk 7.5 crore, monthly DPS, a flat and huge land in Khulna, Jashore and Narail, said sources at the ACC local office.
He has also allegedly rented a luxurious flat in Dhaka.
Most of the FDRs and property are in the names of his wife and children, the sources said.
Later, the anti-graft body ordered probe against him.
Accordingly, Nil Komol Paul, deputy assistant director of ACC Khulna office, is looking into the allegations.
Contacted, the ACC official said there were a number of corruption allegations against Manik Chandra Saha. “We’re investigating the allegations,” he said, declining to elaborate further.
Meanwhile, the stationmaster denied all the allegations him, saying he has a no property other than a tin-shed house.
He also alleged that a vested quarter is carrying out propaganda against him.
