At least 16 people died because of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) across the country in the months of November and December.
The deaths occurred from November 1to December 21, according to a statement issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
The highest number of casualties (11) was recorded in Chattogram division with 10 deaths in Khagrachhari district alone.
The Acute Respiratory Infection claimed one life in Dhaka division.
Two people died in Rangpur division while Rajshahi and Barishal divisions saw a single death each during the period.
According to DGHS data, the death toll due to this infection is on the rise.
