Dhaka, July 1 (UNB) - Bangladesh Auto-rickshaw, Auto-tempo Transport Workers’ Federation has protested the hike in gas prices and demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision.
In a joint statement on Monday, association President Rezaul Islam and General Secretary Md Golam Faruk said the rise in the gas prices will force transport operators, particularly CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers, to spend more for buying fuel.
“Workers in the transport sector like common people are already in trouble for spiraling commodity prices. The gas price hike will push them into further misery,” they said.
