The campaign began aiming to build awareness and to stop spread of dengue fever among the BAF personnel and their families.
BAF has arranged the campaign in line with the national drive to prevent and cure dengue, said an Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Media release.
In his speech the Chief of Air Staff mentioned that prevention is the best way to control dengue. Public awareness and destroying Aedes mosquitoes are the effective ways to eliminate dengue.
He also urged BAF personnel to keep their offices, residences and the surroundings clean to stop breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.
The Chief of Air Staff hoped that the dengue prevention drive would be enhanced through this campaign.
Among others, Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters, senior BAF officers, Airmen and BAF civilian staff participated in the campaign.
On the same day, President of Bangladesh Air Force Women Welfare Association (BAFWWA) and the spouse of Air Chief, Yasmeen Zaman launched another campaign urging to create public awareness for prevention and cure of dengue.
BAFWWA is conducting dengue prevention campaign through measures like motivational lecture, rally and cleanness drives.
