"BNP is now playing dirty politics over Khaleda Zia's health condition. Their current political activities now centred on it," he said while talking to reporters before attending a meeting of the Central Publicity and Publication Subcommittee of Awami League on the national council at Awami League president's Dhanmondi office.
The minister said BNP is seemingly trying to hide the fact that Khaleda Zia was convicted for corruption and jailed for her crimes. "They (BNP leaders) are misleading people about Khaleda Zia's health condition," he added.
Turning to the two-year ban slapped on Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan by the International Cricket Council for not reporting corrupt approaches, he said, "I think the punishment Shakib Al Hasan received is too much harsh."
Chairman of the AL Central Publicity and Publications Subcommittee HT Imam said the media has a big role to play in covering the upcoming national council of Awami League slated for December 20-21. "I hope that you (media) will be with us in this regard," he added.
