The woman form Pahartali’s Soraipara area was admitted to the hospital a few days ago where she died on Monday morning, said Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, divisional director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Her samples were collected and tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID) which confirmed around 10pm that she had been infected with coronavirus, he added.
Earlier, an elderly man from Satkania and a six-year-old child from Patiya died from the virus in the district.
Meanwhile, two more people tested positive for coronavirus in the 24 hours as of Monday, taking the total number cases in the district to 16.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 39 deaths from coronavirus and 803 cases.
Meanwhile, the global deaths from the highly contagious virus reached to 114,980 as of Monday, according to Worldometers.
