During the drive, the elite force also rescued two 12-year-old girls and recovered Yaba pills, said Senior Assistant Director of Rab–9 Md Moniruzzaman.
The arrestees were identified as Rokon Uddin Bhuiyan, 40, a sub-inspector of Armed Police Battalion-7 and son of late Abdur Rashid of Munshipara in the city, and his accomplice Rima Begun, 35, daughter of late Mofizul Mia. Hailing from Kaliajuri in Netrakona, Rima had been living at Dariapara.
They were later handed over to Kotwali Police station.
The duo had been living at a rented house in the area identifying themselves as husband and wife. They used to bring poor women and girls to the flat promising to give them good jobs, the Rab official said.
However, they used to push the women and girls into flesh trade and taking Yaba tablets, he said.
Acting on information, the crime-busting force conducted the drive at the house around 12:45am, Moniruzzaman said.
