In Jashore, an unidentified drug trader, age around 30 years, was killed in reported gunfight between two groups of drug traders at Mangalgati in Sadar upazila, said Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
Being informed about a gunfight between two groups of drug traders in the area, a team of police conducted a drive around 4 am, said the OC.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the gang members fled away the scene.
Later, the team recovered the bullet-hit body, two kilogram hemp and 200 Yaba tablets from the spot, the OC added.
In Rajshahi, suspected drug trader Zarzis, 35, son of Abul Kashem of Panchabati Khorbona area, sustained bullet injuries in a reported gunfight between two groups of drug traders in Charshyampur Balughat area of the city early in the morning.
Being informed about a gunfight, police conducted drive in the area and rescued Zarzis as bullet-hit condition, said Iftekhar Alam, senior police commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police and also the spokesperson.
Later, they also arrested another drug trader Ariful Islam, 36, son of Imarat Hajir of Mirzapur Surapan area.
Police also recovered 104 bottles Phensidyl and three sharp weapons from the spot.
