“Palli Bandhu’s physical condition didn’t deteriorate, rather improved in some cases. He’s slightly better than yesterday (Monday). But he isn’t still out of danger,” he said.
GM Quader came up with the remarks at a press briefing at Jatiya Party chairman’s Banani office.
He said Ershad is now responding to calls and opening eyes as doctors have lessened the doses of his sleeping pills.
The Jatiya Party acting chairman said the infections in his brother’s health have eased in many cases. “Ershad won’t undergo dialysis today (Tuesday) to examine how much his kidneys are functioning.”
He, however, said the level of bilirubin in his blood and urine has increased caused by liver complication.
Ershad, also the leader of the opposition in parliament, was admitted to the CMH on June 26 as his condition deteriorated.
He has been suffering from various old age complications, including low haemoglobin and liver problem, high bilirubin and serious keen pain.
