“Awami League will accept whatever the election outcome is,” said Quader while talking to reporters at the secretariat over current issues.
The Awami League general secretary said, “The Prime Minister has asked the authorities concerned to provide necessary assistance to the Election Commission for holding a credible and inclusive election.”
“We’ve already formed two teams in the two city corporations for election and our work will start in time,” he said.
The elections to the two city corporations -- Dhaka south and north –- will be held on January 30. Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda announced the election schedule on December 22.
Replying to a question, Quader said there are no similarities among the statements of BNP leaders. “They’re now detached from each other as their two senior leaders resigned from their posts for their negative politics. I think BNP will come to the election and will remain till the end.”
Talking about EVM system, he said, “A flawless election is possible with EVMs and there’s no reason to be doubtful about the system.”
Opposition parties can avail all the facilities and they can practise democracy, hold meetings and rally, he said.
Replying to another query, the ruling party leader admitted that they have some mistakes and failures and they will amend those in the coming days.
