Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNB) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday asked the party leaders and activists of come forward to face the dengue situation, stand by the flood victims and join programmes taken on the occasion of the National Mourning Day.
“On behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, I’m directing our leaders and activists to come forward to tackle the dengue situation, stand by the flood victims and spontaneously participate in the month-long programmes of August,” he said.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was talking to reporters after paying tributes to Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by placing wreaths at his grave on the Abahani Club premises in the city, marking his 70th birth anniversary.
The ruling party leader also said the evil forces become active in the month of August and asked the party leaders and activists to remain alert to this end.
