Poor people on Monday formed a human chain at Raghunathpur village in Kalaroa upazila demanding that they be provided with relief as they have been left without any job following the coronavirus outbreak.
Several hundred people took part in the human programme around 11am.
The participants alleged that they received no relief from the government.
Chairman of Helatala union parishad Moazzem Hossain said they have already started distributing food among locals. “If there’s anyone who didn’t get relief, we’ll provide them with those soon,” he added.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 101 deaths and 2,948 coronavirus cases.
