Speaking at an iftar party arranged by Bangshal thana unit of Jatiya Party, he also urged the government to directly buy paddy from farmers.
“Jatiya Party will always give the Prime Minister all-out support in its fight against corruption. So, we want the Prime Minister to take strict action if there’s any corruption in paddy procurement process by the government,” Quader said.
He said middlemen, not the farmers, are getting benefits as the government is buying rice only from mill owners.
The Jatiya Party acting chief also urged the government not to export rice as it may lead to food crisis in case of any natural disaster.
He said their party will do politics giving importance to the interests of the country and its people.
Quader alleged that a quarter is making evil efforts to weaken Jatiya Party, but they will not succeed as the party has huge public support across the country.
