“I asked them (DCs) that when will they do their administrative works if they remain busy in protocol duties,” the minister told reporters after the second day of DC Conference at the Secretariat.
“I have also told them that there is no need of giving so much protocols to the ministers and the VIPs”, said Obaidul.
The minister also told the reporters that he has urged the DCs not to give in to any pressure and not to do anything that affects the government and the state.
He said, as this is the last year of the current government and the elections are going on, the DCs have much work to do to make the elections acceptation.
Acceptable elections are going on with the participation of BNP, he added.
During the conference with the deputy commissioners, the minister also directed them to continue their efforts and increase monitoring to ensure smooth journey for the passengers during the coming Eid-ul-Azha and reduce accidents.
He stressed on the need of keeping the roads usable and active as it is not possible to construct new roads immediately.
The three-day annual conference of the deputy commissioners (DCs) started in the capital on July 23 and will end on July 26.
