The aggrieved public sector jobseekers said that despite a court order in their favour, the concerned authorities had not released the results. The Health Department, under the Health Ministry led by Md Nasim, has shown no interest in their case.
Many have even crossed the maximum age limit for respectable employment and are languishing in a state of limbo.
Sources at the Civil Surgeon’s Office said that the employment process had commenced back in 2012 as a part of the ministry’s drive in nine districts, including Naogaon, where 119 posts were vacant and subject to recruitment.
A written test was held on 26 April, 2013, but the results were never published due to “mysterious reasons”.
A High Court Bench had ordered to stay the results following a writ petition, citing irregularities in the recruitment process in 14 May, 2014, but had also ordered to release the results soon after.
Authorities at the Health Department ignored the order and called for fresh applications in 2015, which was again followed by legal barring.
Ruhul Amin and a few other aspirants said that 330 applicants had passed the written tests, but were not followed up with any verbal interviews. It means over a hundred 3rd- and 4th-class posts
Mominul Haque, the district civil surgeon, said that the matter has been passed on to the Director General of the Health Department, where it will be “resolved soon”. But to those who are aggrieved, those were the first words to lose meaning.
