The non-resident ambassadors are Andrew I Rzheussky of Belarus, Sekou Kasse of Mali, Carlos Jose de Pinho e Melo of Portugal and Gudmundur Arni Atefansson of Iceland while two high commissioners are Agis Loizou of the Republic of Cyprus and Gabriel P Sinimbo of the Republic of Namibia.

Welcoming the envoys, the President expressed the hope that the bilateral relations with the respective countries will further be expanded during their assignments here.
Bangladesh has bright possibilities in different areas, especially tourism, readymade garment (RMG) and medicine, he said.
Abdul Hamid urged the envoys to engage their optimum efforts to explore the existing potentials for the mutual benefits.
He also called upon them to ensure frequent visits by tourists from their countries to different tourist sites, especially world's largest sea beach in Cox’s Bazar and largest mangrove forest Sundarbans, in Bangladesh.
The President hoped that Bangladesh’s existing commerce and trade relations with the countries will be strengthened further in the future.
The envoys sought cooperation from the President for discharging their responsibilities in Bangladesh. In reply, the President assured them of providing all-out cooperation.
Secretaries concerned to the President and high officials of the Foreign Ministry were present.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) gave the envoys separate guards of honour on their arrival at Bangabhaban.
