In Jashore, a woman suffering from fever and breathing problems at Swarupdah village in Chowgachha upazila died on Thursday afternoon.
Dr Lutfunnahar Lucky, health and family planning officer of Chowgachha Upazila Health Complex, said the woman came to the hospital with respiratory problems and fever in the early hours on Thursday and the authorities concerned of the hospital collected her samples.
As the woman’s condition deteriorated, she was referred to Jashore 250-bed hospital.
But the relatives of the patient took her home where she breathed her last in the afternoon.
In Barishal, a 72-year-old elderly man undergoing treatment in Corona Unit of Sher-e- Bangla Medical College Hospital died early Friday.
The deceased was suffering from cold, fever and breathing complications and was admitted to the hospital on Thursday.
His samples were collected for COVID-19 test, said hospital sources.
In Munshiganj, another elderly man Jahangir Bepari, 60, also died with cold and fever at his house in Mirapara village of Sadar upazila on Friday.
Upazila Health Officer Dr Sumon Kumar said the deceased’s burial was completed following the World Health Organisation’s guideline.
His samples were collected for a coronavirus test, he said.
Meanwhile, on Friday 1,202 more people tested positive of COVID-19 in the span of 24 hours, raising the total cases to 20,065.
During the period, 15 more people died, taking the death tally to 298, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) while the global death toll from coronavirus reached 203,555 as of Friday.
