A special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his slain family members, the four national leaders and the independence martyrs.

A session of patriotic songs and poetry recitation enthralled the audience comprising war veterans, friends of Bangladesh, media persons, diplomats and Bangladeshi students studying in New Delhi.
A cultural programme was presented by Aahang, a Delhi-based organisation.
The guests were treated with delicious dishes of Fakhruddin’s Kachchi Biriyani, prepared by cooks flown in from Dhaka.
The chancery building was illuminated to match the celebratory mood of the day.
