Jashore, Oct 5 (UNB) – Police in a drive arrested a female drug peddler along with 6,000 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from her house in Uposhahar in the district town early Friday.

The arrestee was identified as Sumi Begum, 30, wife of Ujjal Sheikh of the area.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sumi from her residence in the morning, said Apurbo Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station.

Sumi is a listed drug peddler and wanted in a dozen cases, the OC added.
