The High Court has suspended the results of Dhaka-4 constituency (Jatrabari and Shyampur) for the 12th parliamentary election.
At the same time, the High Court has asked the Chief Election Commissioner and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner for a report within 10 days after investigating the allegations of irregularities in 18 centers of the constituency.
The HC bench of Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice Md Bashir Ullah passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by Sanjida Khanam, the Awami League-nominated candidate for the constituency.
Advocate Shah Monjurul Haque, Advocate Motahar Hossain Saju and Barrister ABM Altaf Hossain stood for the writ petitioner while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state.

Earlier on January 7, independent candidate Awlad Hossain won the Dhaka-4 constituency in the 12th parliamentary election with 24,775 votes. His nearest rival, AL-nominated candidate Sanjida Khanam got 22,577 votes.
Incumbent MP Syed Abu Hossain Babla of Jatiya Party with plough symbol got 7,798 votes.
