Bangladesh lost the first match by 47 runs, but they played smart cricket to bounce back in the series.
South Africa batted first after winning the toss on Thursday and put up 238 runs on the board in for nine wickets in 50 overs. Bangladesh chased the target of 239 runs in 48.4 overs (240 for six).
Murshida Khatun and Shaila Sharmin posted 48 and 42 respectively to lead the team to the win. Along with them, Fahima Khatun, captain Nigar Sultana and Sobhbnam Mostary scored 20, 29 and 29 respectively for Bangladesh as well.
For South Africa, Tumi Sekhukhune, Anne Bosch and Nadine de Klerk took one wicket each. However, their efforts were not enough for the Proteas girls.
Earlier, South Africa put up a challenging total of 238 riding on the half-centuries of Robyn Searle (96) and Trisha Chetty (56). Besides them, Tazmin Brits also did well scoring 45 runs.
These batters were only to reach double-digit scores for South Africa. The other eight batters, who took the field for them, failed to reach double-digit scores.
For Bangladesh, Khadija Tul Kubra was the best bowler taking four wickets for 42 runs while Ritu Moni bagged two for 51 and Nahida Akter took one.
In the first match of the series, South Africa on by 47 runs and took the lead in the series 1-0. The next match will take place on July 28.
