“I think Dhaka League is the biggest platform to prove my worth again. But, it is not possible for someone to score by announcing to do so. I am hopeful of playing remarkable innings in the league. Now, let’s see what happens,” Mosaddek told reporters on Sunday while attending a practice session with his team Abahani Limited at Mirpur Academy ground.
Abahani have played one match in the league so far and won it against Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) by 60 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium where Mosaddek just scored 13 runs off 23 deliveries, which was not an ideal response from a batsman like him against an opponent like BKSP.
Mosaddek started off his international career back in 2016 with a T20 International against Zimbabwe. Since then, he has represented the Tigers in two Tests, 24 ODIs and eight T20 Internationals, but failed to replicate the performance what he has displayed during his age-level cricket career.
The right-handed batsman was considered to be one of the best choices for the national team for his wonderful appearances in the domestic circuit. But, he lost that place by failing to bring his domestic form in the international arena.
He has played 36 First-class matches and accumulated 2993 runs in an average of 59.86 with 11 centuries to his name, and he appeared in 85 List-A matches and struck 2157 in an average of 39.94 with two hundred to his credit.
However, the batsman insisted that he is not satisfied with the performance that he has shown in last one-year in domestic arena.
“I will be satisfied if I can go at the expected level of performance. I am not doing currently what I really want to do,” the batsman also told to journalists.
Mosaddek is now keen to perform well in Dhaka League for Abahani instead of thinking anything else, he said. The defending champions of the league, Abahani, will lock horn with Uttara Sporting Club on Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
“We will play against Uttara in the next game. They are a good team who beat Sheikh Jamal in their opening game. We are confident of overcoming the new challenge,” Mosaddek said.
Sheikh Jamal will face Brothers Union in Shere-e-Bangla and Legends of Rupgans will lock horn against Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP.
