Earlier on the first day (Monday), Dhaka Metropolis left arm spinner Arafat Sunny grabbed seven wickets for 57 runs to bundle out Dhaka Division for 206 runs in 75 overs in the first innings despite number six batsman Taibur Rahman’s 88 runs, Rony Talukder’s 30 and Moshrraf Hossain’s 27 runs.
Replying to Dhaka Division’s poor first innings total, Dhaka Metro team resumed first innings on Tuesday morning with their overnight total of 26 for no loss in 13 overs and scored a good total (312/4) featuring 137 runs in the 4th wicket stand by Shadman Islam and former national skipper Mohammad Ashraful.
Shadman Islam, who was in batting with just four runs, played an entertaining innings of unbeaten 186 runs off 313 balls, hitting 21 fours and one six while number five batsman Mohammad Ashraful added another useful 49 off 138 balls with the help of four fours and one six.
Besides, number six Mehrab Hossain Junior scored an unconquered 37 off 97 balls with three fours and a six while opener Shykat Ali (4) made 54-ball 23 runs, including three boundaries.
Pacer Shahadat Hossain claimed two wickets for 54 runs.
