International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh finished 78th in the Qatar Masters Open Chess 2023, securing 4.5 points after the ninth and final round matches concluded in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.
After the final round, Fahad was placed 71st with other players, and later in the tiebreaking system, he finished 78th.

Earlier, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman drew with IM S Teja Ravi of India in the 9th round match held Friday evening.
After the meeting, Fahad increased seven rating from this event.

GM Yakubboev Nodirbek of Uzbekistan emerged as champion, while GM Abdusattorov Nodirbek of Uzbekistan finished runner-up with 7 points each.
Former World Champion Magnus Carlsen finished 16th, collecting 6 points.

A total of 158 players from 31 countries, including 58 grandmasters, 6 women’s grandmasters, 56 international masters, and six women’s international masters, took part in the event.
