Dhaka, Mar 11 (UNB) — Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to miss Bangladesh’s last Test against New Zealand.
Akram Khan, cricket operations chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed the development on Monday.
Shakib is suffering from a finger injury which he sustained during the final of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on February 8. He played the last season of BPL for Dhaka Dynamites who fought Comilla Victorians in the final.
“Shakib’s medical report suggests that he won’t be available before March 20. So I can say there is no possibility for him to go to New Zealand to take part in the last Test,” Akram told the media at BCB.
The cricket board on Saturday said Shakib needed an extra seven days of rest to recover properly. Shakib also missed the three-match ODI series.
