Tangail, Dec 28 (UNB) – BNP aspirant Lutfar Rahman Khan Azad for Tangail-3 constituency on Friday demanded withdrawal of Ghatail Police Station officer-in-charge Maksudul Alam and Dhalapara police outpost In-charge Amirul Islam for openly asking voters to cast their vote for ‘boat’.
Lutfar Rahman made this demand at a press conference at Tangail Press Club Auditorium on Friday afternoon.
In a written statement, Lutfar said Awami League men carried out attacks on his party men as well as threatening voters not to go the polling centres.
The law enforcers also arresting BNP men without any reason, he alleged.
Although written complaints were sent to the election commission and concerned authorities several times, any measures were taken yet in this regard, he added.
Tangail District unit BNP General Secretary Advocate Farad Iqbal and Ghatail unit General Secretary M Rezaul Karim along with some other BNP leaders were present at the briefing.
