Abdul Bari, father of Ekattor TV Diplomatic Correspondent Jhumur Bari, passed away on Tuesday evening at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital. He was 70.

He was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Jhumur's father.

In a condolence message, DCAB President Angur Nahar Monty and General Secretary Touhidur Rahman conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and sought eternal peace of the departed soul.

He left behind a son, two daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.
