The report of the probe body was submitted before the HC bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali on Monday.
The report said the history of the Liberation War has been distorted by not attaching the picture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the book.
Earlier on October 2 last year, the High Court asked the Finance Division Secretary to investigate the absence of Bangabandhu’s photo and distortion of the Liberation War history in the book ‘History of Bangladesh Bank’ and submit a report to his end.
The HC passed the order following a writ petition filed by Bangladesh Human Rights Commission Chairman Iktedar Ahmed.
The court also issued a rule asking the government to explain as to why the distortion of the Liberation War history and the absence of the photo of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the book should not be declared illegal.
Bangladesh Bank published a book ‘History of Bangladesh Bank’ in December 2017 in which there is no existence of the photo of Bangabandhu and it also reportedly distorted the history of the Liberation War, including the ‘7th March Speech’.
