Dhaka, July 9 (UNB)- The High Court on Tuesday extended the bail of Nazmul Huda and his wife Sigma Huda until investigation in a corruption case is completed.
The bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam passed the order.
Nazmul Huda stood for himself, while Khurshid Alam represented the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik the state.
The HC on Monday ordered the ACC to complete the investigation and submit its report within four months.
ACC filed the case at Motijheel Police Station on June 18, 2008 against the couple, accusing them of accepting bribe from a contractor of Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge Authority.
The HC scrapped the trial in 2016 over a petition filed by the couple. The Appellate Division on June 7, 2017 overturned the verdict and cleared way for resuming trial proceedings.
