Khagrachhari, Sept 4 (UNB) – A court here on Tuesday placed Rabendra Tripura alias Shanta, an activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (MN Larma), to two-day remand in a case filed over the murder of Krittika Tripura alias Punati.
Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate Morshed Alam passed the order when A Samad, officer-in-charge of Dighinala Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Shanta before the court with seven-day remand prayer.
Police recovered the body of an indigenous girl, Krittika Tripura alias Punati, 11, daughter of Anumoti Tripura and a class-V student, from Noymail area in Dighinala upazila on July 28.
Police arrested four people in this connection and they are now in jail.
After investigation, police arrested Shanta from Larma Square on Saturday and he was taken into police custody.
