Dhaka, Feb 17 (UNB) - President Abdul Hamid on Sunday expressed deep shock at the death of former MP and freedom fighter Manjur Ahmed Bachchu.
In a condolence message, the President said Bangladesh has lost a dedicated leader at the death of Manjur as he contributed a lot to politics.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Manjur Ahmed Bachchu, one of the organisers of the 69 movement and civil affairs adviser of sector-3 during the 1971 Liberation War, died of old-age complications at a city hospital on Sunday at the age of 85.
The veteran politician will be buried at his family graveyard at Basantapur village in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj district on Monday.
