A 21-year-old university student reportedly killed herself Wednesday during a video call with a roommate in Dhaka's Shahjahanpur.
The deceased, identified as Rubina Yasmin Nadi, was found hanging from the ceiling in the evening. She was from Barguna's Betagi and studying law at a private university in the city.
She lived in a shared apartment with a friend in Shahjahanpur's Gulbagh and worked for a clothing company.

Rubina's friend Marium, who worked at the same company, said: "She did not go to work today and called me around 3pm. Rubina asked me to get back home quickly and also said she felt like dying. We were on a video call and at one point Rubina committed suicide by hanging herself."
She was first rushed to a local hospital and then shifted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared her dead, Marium added.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Inspector Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter to UNB and said the body had been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Rubina got married to her classmate Sayem in 2019 after having a romantic attachment with him. However, they got divorced, three months into their marriage.
Sharifa Sultana, a cousin of the deceased, said: "Even after their divorce, Sayem used to send the couple's intimate photos to Marium, which had a very damaging effect on Rubina. She broke down mentally."
Assistant Commissioner (DMP Sobujbagh Zone) Mantosh Biswas said if the incident was a suicide could be confirmed after an investigation.
