Dhaka, Aug 7 (UNB) - Digital services provider Robi and CARE Bangladesh have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create 100 retailer girls (adolescent) in Kurigram district.
Robi’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer, Shahed Alam and CARE Bangladesh’s Country Director, Zia Choudhury signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at the Robi’s corporate office.
Robi’s Managing Director and CEO, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Chief Commercial Officer, Pradeep Shrivastava, CARE Bangladesh’s Director, Women & Girls Empowerment Program, Humaira Aziz and other high officials were present on the occasion.
Under the MoU agreement, CARE will provide smartphones and capital to the girls so that they can start as retailers by selling talk-time, data packs, SIM cards, Mobile Financial Services and other value added services on behalf of Robi.
