The solo art exhibition of Singapore-based Bangladeshi young artist Jamil Khan titled ‘Inspiration’ is all set to be inaugurated on Saturday, November 11, at the Garden Gallery, Baridhara, in the capital.

The exhibition, thoughtfully titled ‘Inspiration’, mirrors the human journey - a mirror to melancholy, a sanctuary for introspection and a portal to self-discovery. In his latest works, Jamil infuses each artwork with his disposition, their titles echoing the emotions and ambience they encapsulate.

Embarking on exploring the intricate interplay between cause and effect, his fresh body of works delves into the nuanced fabric of everyday life - which will be showcased in this exclusive exhibition.

Using sketching on pencil, Acrylic, and oil paint, Jamil elevates the commonplace to a realm of vibrant expression. His artworks become vessels for tales of connection, intimacy and raw emotion, offering the art admirers with a fusion of artistry and reality.

With a total of 37 selected artworks of the young artist on various mediums, ‘Inspiration’ will be on view at Garden Gallery, Gallery Cosmos on Saturday, followed by a week at Gallery Cosmos, Cosmos Centre, 69/1 New Circular Road, Malibagh, in the capital.

Born in one of the culturally significant families in Bangladesh, Jamil Khan began his quest to pacify his thirst for knowledge at the age of seventeen, beginning his career as an amateur journalist. At eighteen, an exclusive photography exhibition of Jamil Khan was held in Dhaka Bangladesh, in December 2004.

“To me, art means passion, expression, emotion, imagination - and inspiration. Art has a positive influence on me; art is power, art is pain, art is joy - to me, art is everything. I have been creating art ever since I was a child. It has been a journey of self-discovery,” according to Jamil Khan.

From kindergarten to the ninth grade, Jamil Khan attended American International School in Dhaka (AISD). From the 10th to the 11th grades, he attended Singapore American School (SAS). At the age of 18, Jamil Khan cleared the GED tests in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and was awarded a high school diploma. One of Jamil Khan's greatest childhood achievements was participating in three school productions as an actor at AISD and one at SAS.

Currently based in Singapore, artist Jamil Khan has also lived in Bangladesh, Canada, and the USA. As an avid traveller, Jamil Khan has travelled to various countries including France, Australia, Japan, England, Netherlands, Spain, and Indonesia. Besides devoting his time and passion towards art, Jamil Khan has a long list of hobbies including acting, singing, dancing, art, photography, filmmaking, tennis, swimming, running, boxing, writing, reading, yoga, meditating and walking; and he attended in many classes across the world including art, music and acting classes.
