Covid-19: Office returnees throng on roads amid growing number of infection
Despite the persistent increase of coronavirus cases in country especially in the capital, the home bound people crowded the city roads after office hour on Sunday avoiding the risk of transmission.
Such scenario is occurring more frequently in the over populated metropolitan city as the government has recently announced not to extend the ongoing public holidays and directed to operate all offices on a limited scale maintaining advised health rules. It was also declared that all public transports, including trains, will resume services on a limited scale.
Meanwhile, health authorities confirmed the detection of record 2,743 new patients in the last 24 hours, raising the total cases to 65,769.
Covid-19 that invaded the country in late March, has claimed lives of 888 people so far including forty-two people in last 24 hours until Sunday.
A UNB photographer visited the Gulistan area on Sunday and captured some photos of people returning home from their office and business places in the capital without following the guideline of social distance.
