In Pabna, a clash at Machkhali village in Bera upazila over catching fish from a water body left a youth dead.
The deceased was identified as Aynul Haque, 30, son of Ashkar Pramanik of the village.
Shahid Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Bera Model Police Station, said there was a scuffle between Habib Pramanik, son of Rowshan Ali, and Osman Goni, son of Nowsher Sheikh, on Wednesday afternoon, which left the latter injured.
As a sequel of the incident, supporters of Habib Pramanik swooped on the house of Nowsher Sheikh.
Later, the both groups locked into a fierce clash, leaving 20 people, including Aynul, injured. He died on the way to hospital.
Police arrested five people in this connection.
In Sunamganj, a young man was killed in a clash at Bajitpur village in Doarabazar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Jakir Hossain, 27, son of Rupai Mia.
Md Abul Hashem, officer-in-charge of Doarabazar Police Station, said Jakir locked into an altercation with Goyash Miah around 11am over a trifling matter.
At one stage, he stabbed Jakir with a knife, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and arrested two people, including Goyash, in this connection.
