GEMS Global, an event organiser, will arrange the exhibition where 267 business firms from different countries, including Bangladesh, India, China, Sweden, Germany, Italy, the USA, Uzbekistan, the UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Finland and Turkey, will showcase their products and services.
“The companies will participate in the expo through 300 stalls and display their latest and innovative concepts, equipment, technologies and services related to infrastructure development,” said Meherun N Islam, President of CEMS Global, while addressing a press conference at the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) conference room in the city.
She said this exposition will play a vital role in promoting investment in different sectors of the country as many countries have expressed their interests to invest in Bangladesh.
“Many companies are even planning to start production units in Bangladesh. The infrastructure of a country is one of the major wheels needed to keep an economy moving towards further growth,” Meherun said.
She said presently major infrastructure development projects, including metro rail, an expressway with access control, the double-decker Padma Bridge (roadway and railway), a subway, BRT (bus rapid transit lines), an airport terminal, a tunnel beneath Karnaphuli and a nuclear power plant, are being implemented that need huge technological support and also equipment.
