Arrested activists are --- Abdus Salam, son of Daud Hossain of Shura village; Nasir Uddin, son of Jalal Uddin of Gorpara village; Ibrahim, son of Cherag Ali of Ramchandrapur village; Rezaul Islam, son of Navaron Railbazar; Moajjem Hossain, son of Abu Hossain of Benekhari village; Abdul latif, son of Irfan Sarder of Tengra village; Shamsur Rahman, son of Ajgar Ali Gazi of Raripukur village; Hasanuzzaman, son of Bahar Ali of Bagachra village and Abul Hossain, son of Abdus Sattar of Basatpur village. All were sent to Jashore Court on Sunday noon.
Mashiur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sharsha Police Station said: “On information, police ran the raid at Tengra village where BNP activists were gathering for sabotage. Upon arrival, nine were held while others managed to flee. Arrestees have been sent to court custody after filing cases.”
One arrestee, Abdus Salam’s brother Laltu, said that his brother was a grocery shopkeeper in Gorpara Bazar whom Gorpara police outpost’s Assistant Sub-inspector arrested from his shop.
Jalal Uddin, father of arrested Nasir Uddin said “My son was sitting in a tea stall in Gorpara Bazar from where he was held by the police. Later they filed sabotage case against him and sent him to court.”
