Welcoming the initiative of establishing the Speaker Humayun Rashid Choudhury Smrity Parishad, Abdul Hamid said it will help know the life and works of the late Speaker.
He also shared some of his memories with the then Speaker.
Humayun Rashid was a diplomat and Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad from 1996 to 2001.
He was also elected president of the 41st session of the UN General Assembly in 1986.
Humayun Rashid was born on November 11, 1928 and died on July 10, 2001.
He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2018 posthumously.
Secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban were also present during the meeting.
