Munshiganj, June 4 (UNB)– Ferry and launch services resumed on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route after rough weather forced authorities to suspend operations on Tuesday morning.
Mawa police outpost in-charge Aminul Islam said that water transportation was suspended at 9:45am and resumed around 11:15am.
About 300 vehicles were stranded at the Shimulia end.
The pressure on roads, rail and waterways has increased much in recent days as millions rush to their village homes to spend the Eid holiday.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecast intermittent light to moderate rain throughout the country for the next two to three days.
