Chattogram, Oct 7 (UNB) – A worker has been killed as an iron plate fell on him at a shipbreaking yard at Kadamrasul in Sitakunda upazila.

The deceased was identified as Md Rabiul Hossain, 20, son of Abul Hayat of Islampur upazila in Jamalpur district. 

Shamim Sheikh, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sitakunda Model Police Station, said Rabiul suffered serious injuries to the head when the iron plate fell on him on Sunday night while working at Golden Iron Ltd ship-breaking yard.

He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died on Monday morning.
